Population Council Vacancy for Research Data Analyst in Abuja, Nigeria


The Population Council an international, non-profit, non-governmental institution that seeks to improve the well-being and reproductive health of current and future generations around the world, is seeking an individual to fill the position of Research Data Analyst in its Abuja office.
Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, manage, and implement social & epidemiological research protocols
2. Undertake data management activities to ensure protocol adherence & data integrity
3. Manage large relational data sets, merging across data sources & formats
4. Clean, weigh, analyse, and present data for report preparation.
5. Conduct literature reviews, advanced analysis of datasets, write-up analysis for manuscprits, papers, and articles.
 

Qualifications:
1. Ph.D plus 2 years post-graduate professional experience (or Masters plus 5 years) in relevant social science or epidemiology.
2. Strong analytic and database skills including statistical analysis.
3. Ability to use statistical packages-Epi Info, SPSS (required), STATA (optional); ArcInfo (advantage)
4. Experience in implementing management information systems and field research essential.
5. Excellent communication skills including written communication and oral presentation skills.

VSAT/MICROWAVE RADIO IMPLEMENTATION ENGINEER
This vacancy is for engineers willing to relocate outside Lagos.
The VSAT/Microwave Radio Engineer will be a qualified engineer, either in Electrical/Electronics or Computer Engineering
A minimum of 3 years of VSAT /Microwave Radio experience (commercial and technical) with protection; A minimum of 3 years site experience with implementation, integration, testing and commissioning of VSATs; A minimum of 1 year site experience with implementation, integration, testing and commissioning of Microwave Radio; A solid understanding and experience with both the electrical and electronics components contained in microwave systems.


PROJECT MANAGER
Degree in Project Management with hardware engineering background or degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering with Project Management certification. He/she must have at least 3 years experience in an IT company preferably. Must be conversant with industry trends/cycles in supply chain management. Must possess good analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent report writing skills and presentation skills are key requirements for this position.

 
ORACLE DBA
The Oracle DBA role is to support existing Oracle applications.
1+ years Oracle Database Administrator experience; 1+ years enterprise application support experience; Linux administration experience; Excellent troubleshooting skills; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Proven experience with PL /SQL including writing and optimizing code in PL/SQL; Oracle 9i & 19g competence and certification; Tuning and troubleshooting Oracle instances; Installing Oracle on Linux/UNIX; Experience in configuring and maintaining highly scalable environments; Knowledge in Oracle backup/recovery methodologies and strategies

Education: B.Sc. Information Technology, or Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or other related disciplines with minimum of Second Class Lower Division. Oracle 10g DBA Certification.
ACCOUNTS EXECUTIVES
Preparation of monthly, quarterly and yearly final accounts; Preparation of schedules to the final accounts; Reconciliation of receivables and payables; Bank reconciliation and verification of bank charges; Tax and Audit management;
The person must be a graduate and a chartered accountant with a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience. He/she must have sound knowledge of accounting principles. Post qualification audit experience will be an added advantage.
